"There are activity areas throught this library. Where can one find a quiet study area?"
The OISE Library has been divided up into three types of areas:
1. "Activity" areas, where talking / collaboration in "normal" speaking voices is encouraged.
The Ground Floor of the Library, the area near the photocopiers on the Concourse Level, and the group study rooms on the Mezzanine and Concourse Level of the Library have all been designated as Activity areas.
2. "Quiet Conversation / Collaboration" areas
The third floor of the Library and the areas outside of library offices on the 2nd floor of the Library have been designated as "Quiet Conversation / Collaboration" areas.
3. "Quiet Study Only" areas
The 2nd floor of the Library (with the exception of the areas outside of library offices), the Concourse Level (with the exception of the photocopier area and the group study rooms), and the individual study carrels on the Mezzanine Level of the Library have all been designated as Quiet Study areas.
Signs have been posted throughout the Library to advise people of the noise level permitted in each area.
